Frankie Jackson
BSc RVN NCert CBCC
Hi! I’m Frankie, a passionate canine behaviour consultant with extensive experience in veterinary nursing, dog training, and behaviour modification. I studied Zoology at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where I discovered my love of ethology - the study of animal behaviour - and gained a strong foundation in medicine, nutrition, and healthcare.
Qualifications, Experience & Achievements
I am a UK-registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS) with over a decade of experience across general practice, emergency & critical care, wildlife rescue, and referral hospitals. Alongside my nursing career, I pursued formal training in canine and feline behaviour, earning postgraduate certifications in Animal Behaviour (Canine & Feline) and Puppy Development & Behaviour.
In 2022, I earned CCPDT certification as a Canine Behaviour Consultant, one of only 12 in the state of Georgia at the time, and I’m now proud to be one of just 17 CBCCs in Illinois, where I’ll be relocating next month. I am LIMA and Humane Hierarchy certified, meaning I use only force-free, positive reinforcement methods, grounded in scientific principles. I also completed Mike Shikashio's Master Course in Aggression in 2025, enhancing my ability to work with dogs displaying complex aggression.
Over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to share my expertise with a wider audience. I’ve been lucky enough to be interviewed for the Associated Press, quoted in The Washington Post, and received a special thanks on a National Geographic documentary.
Canine Counseling & Wider Work
For the past two years, I’ve been lucky enough to run my own business, Canine Counseling. I’ve loved every minute of it; working with private clients, collaborating with shelters, and sharing my knowledge with the wider community.
I’ve spent almost two decades working hands-on with dogs of all temperaments, helping guardians navigate fear, stress, and anxiety-based behaviours. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the work I’ve done not only with private clients but also with shelters, in particular, the Homeless Pets Foundation, and I encourage anyone who can to volunteer with them and/or consider adopting - Noodle, my little orange monster cat, was adopted from there.
I’ve also had the pleasure of collaborating with some wonderful local pet businesses, including Barking Dog Bakery in Vinings and Top Dogs Pet Boutique in Kennesaw - both are amazing for all your dog’s nutritional and enrichment needs, and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about helping pets thrive.
I currently live in Smyrna, GA, with my husband, Bubba, and our rescue cat, Noodle. Later this year, we’ll be relocating to Chicago, IL, and I’ll be joining PUPS Pet Club as an expert trainer.
Gratitude & Goodbyes
I want to extend heartfelt thanks to all my clients for helping bring my dream to life, and to my husband, Bubba, who has been my number one cheerleader and biggest fan from day one.
I also deeply appreciate the friends I’ve made along the way - both fellow trainers and clients-turned-friends (you know who you are) - who have supported me not only professionally but personally, especially in the months after we lost Rook. Your patience, encouragement, and friendship mean the world, and I know these bonds will remain strong long after we've left Georgia.
The greatest thanks go to my darling boy, Rook. We were so incredibly lucky to have such an amazing companion for so many years. Rook was far from just our dog, he was a teacher, a comfort, and a constant source of joy. He got me through some of the toughest times in my life and made the long journey from the UK to the US with me, becoming an inseparable part of our family along the way. He taught me more than any degree, workshop, lecture, or book ever could, and his lessons about patience, resilience, and unconditional love continue to shape how I work with every dog and guardian I meet. We miss him deeply every day, and his spirit will always guide the work I do.
As I close Canine Counseling to embark on this exciting new chapter in Chicago, I carry with me everything I’ve learned, and everything I’ve been privileged to experience with the dogs, guardians, and communities I’ve worked with. I truly believe, as I share with nearly every client, “If you say no to one thing, you have to say yes to something else.” This feels like the right yes for me, and I’m so excited to continue helping dogs and their guardians thrive in this next chapter.
Take care, stay safe and give belly rubs,
